Moments of hope: Our journey with rescued horses.
Orca is an Icelandic mare in her mid-30s. She is calm, willful at times, but very sweet and wonderful with children. She has given lessons to many children. Orca has a reputation for being a fast horse who enjoys Gymkhana. Orca eats special feeds now because of aging teeth. She takes it easy now, and is in rehabilitation and receives supplements to keep her back end and core muscles strong.
Osk, an Icelandic mare, was unpredictable and dangerous when she was donated to the HHH. With training and patience, she became Patty’s personal horse and lived into her late 30's.
Willow is ancient. She was rescued from a kill pen. She has Kissing Spine syndrome, so she cannot be ridden. She is great friends with Iron Man.
Fafnir is an Icelandic gelding. He is an unusual Grullo color. He found a forever person who shares expenses for his care with Patty.
Iron Man is ancient. He is a 17 hands tall Paint horse. He was abandoned. Iron Man is living out the remainder of his life at the HHH with his soul mate, Willow. Like many of the older horses at the HHH, Iron Man has no functional teeth and must eat pellets soaked to make a mash.
Mr. B is an Arabian Gelding. He is nearing 30, but is still very spirited. He is sweet and gentle.
