At Hyslop Horse Haven, our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate unwanted and abandoned horses. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment for horses in need, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.

The HHH sits on 10 acres in east San Diego county, in Jamul, CA. The HHH is equipped with a large arena, a round pen, tack sheds and barns, paddocks and two small pastures. The HHH is surrounded by acres and acres of trails in the Lawson Valley.

Patty Hyslop, the owner, is a horse trainer and former endurance competitor. Patty has rescued over 100 horses over 25 years. Horses come to the HHH from kill pens, the Bureau of Land Management, and from the donation or purchase of unwanted or abused horses.
Patty rehabilitates, provides training, veterinary care, and then rehomes the rescues. Those that cannot be rehomed live out their lives at the HHH.
The Haven has sustained itself through donations, riding lessons, boarding, children’s horse camps, work shops, and other fundraising events.
We currently have several geriatric horses that require veterinary care, therapy, special feeds, needs, and rehabilitation. Your generous donations will cover their extra needs.

In 2020, the Haven suffered extensive damage in the Valley fire. All of the horses and people living at the ranch survived, but most of the structures burned down and all riding tack was destroyed. Much of the ranch was rebuilt and made operational again.

Patty's health has declined due to Multiple Sclerosis. She is less physically able to give lessons and hold fundraising events. Your donations will help pay for the care of older horses. Please click below to contact Patty and receive a secure and private pay link (Venmo or Zelle).
We love our supporters. Please email or call to arrange a visit.
